A 3-player weave is more often used by handlers in game situations, but as a drill it can work on a number of disc skills that benefit all players.
Running a 3-player weave is a great way to practice a number of fundamental disc-moving skills: faking passes, pivoting, running cutting patterns with bluff cuts, timing cuts, throw-then-run, catch-pivot-pass, throwing to space.
If you run this with your whole team as a warm-up drill, have the first 3 players start and once they reach mid-field, let the next 3 start.
For an added challenge, add defenders and have them play “80%” D, applying some light coverage to put some pressure on the offensive players. And for even more challenge, let your defenders go 100% on D, turning this into a 3-player isolation drill.
